In 2006, we obtained exclusive timber rights to all production forests within the Chiquibul Forest Reserve. Logging operations are conducted sustainably in compliance with a multi-year Sustainable Forest Management Plan and consecutive Annual Plans of Operation. Under the supervision and approval of the Belize Forest Department, this plan guides sustainable forest management and logging operations.
Each year, our field staff embarks on a 5-months stock survey in a proposed logging compartment during which they map, measure, and mark all potential harvestable trees, reserve trees, and future crop trees.
